Engineer Youssef Al-Rashidi, who is now the millionaire Youssef Al-Rashidi, founded an electronic forum in 2005, the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for buying and selling cars over the Internet. This was two years before he graduated from the College of Computer Science at King Fahd University. The forum was not intended to make a profit, but rather was a service forum to facilitate individuals displaying and selling their cars.

In 2008, Youssef Al-Rashidi decided to transform this forum into a website dedicated to car advertisements only, with a 1% commission for each sale made through the site. He called it Haraj Saudi Arabia, and the cost of the site at that time was only $220.
After years of work and success, the site's management was transformed from an individual management to an organized institution with more than thirty employees of qualified and efficient engineers.
In 2016, the founder of the site was offered to sell a share of it for $20 million, but Al-Rashidi refused because the offer was not suitable for the value that the site had reached in terms of wide fame in the Arab world.
